Ram ProMaster Reliability

The Ram Truck Division, stylized as RAM and formerly known as Ram Trucks, is a division of Stellantis and an American brand of light to mid-weight commercial vehicles. In North America, the Fiat Ducato full-size van line is sold as Ram ProMaster vans. There are three models in the line: 1500, 2500, and 3500 with cut-away cab chassis options.

Overview

Vans like the Ram ProMaster are built to handle a variety of jobs, which is why their capability and flexibility are so important. A single 280-horsepower V-6 powertrain powers the ProMaster. It’s available only with front-wheel drive. Despite these limitations, it can carry a heavier load than either Ford or Mercedes.   The ProMaster has a high payload rating, excellent outward visibility in the front, and desirable driver assistance and infotainment features.

Reliability

The ProMaster ranks 18th among 21 vans in terms of overall reliability according to Repairpal.com. The number and severity of repairs on this vehicle are higher than average, and it does not have an as long warranty as to the Nissan NV. It is expected that a Ram Promaster will last for up to 250,000 miles. Some consumers claim that Ram ProMasters can travel up to 475,000 miles. According to plenty of evidence, however, the average vehicle runs for at least 200,000 miles or just over 13 years based on the average of 15,000 miles driven per year.
